Bandits Win in Extra Innings

Nat Richter laced a single to left field that scored Doug Bloom from second base with two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Bandits a 4-3 extra inning victory of the Menasha Macs in the Bandits Northeastern League opener.  Menasha had scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning off reliever Greg Herr to tie the game at 3-3.  Trevor Theismann made his Bandits debut, pitching six solid innings with six strikeouts and two walks, he gave up only one earned run.  

Bandits Score Nine Unanswered To Win 12-10

 

In Game Two, the Cavaliers jumped on Bandits starter Andrew Wyman early and often. Eau Claire scored four runs in the first and third innings, including two runs in the fourth.

The Bandits made it a 4-3 game in the second with RBI’s from TC Lee, Max Stepan and Doug Bloom.

Bandits Crush Cavs

The Manitowoc Bandits used two big innings to get a 10-3 win in the first game of a double header against the Eau Claire Cavaliers on Sunday.
After Matt Phipps threw a scoreless first inning, the Bandits left two runners in scoring position after back to back bunt singles to start the inning.

Bandits Split DH with Cavs

Joe Christensen opened the 2009 Wisconsin State League season by tossing a complete game, tallying eight strikeouts along the way, and leading the Bandits to a 3-1 victory over the Eau Claire Cavaliers.  Kyle Schroeder was 2x2 in the game.  The Bandits and Cavs were tied at 1-1 until the bottom of the fifth inning when, with two outs, Doug Bloom reached first after being hit by the pitch.

Saturday Start Time Moved Back to 3:00 PM

 Today's WSL doubleheader against the Eau Claire Cavaliers that will kick off the regular season for both teams and will start at 3:00 pm today, not 2:00 pm as the schedule had indicated. 

Bandits Cruise, League Play Starts Saturday

 

Nat rounds secondThe Bandits bats were alive on a chilly May evening as the team put together sixteen hits en route to a 9-1 victory over the Denmark DevilBears of the Shoreland League.  The Bandits scored in five of eight innings with Donovan Strouf and Nat Richter each posting three hits while Mike Hall, Brock Wetenkamp and TC Lee had a pair each.

 

Tonight's Game Rained Out

Tonight's Bandits game scheduled versus Two Rivers at Walsh Field in Two Rivers has been rained out.  The game will be made up on June 9th at 7:30pm at Two Rivers.   The Bandits next game is tomorrow night (Thursday) at home against the Denmark DevilBears.  The game starts at 7:30 pm.  It is the last non-league game prior to the start of the regular season when the Bandits host the Eau Claire Cavaliers this Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm.

Bandits Rebound for Game Two Win

The Bandits continued their non-league schedule before the regular season opener next weekend at home versus the Eau Claire Cavaliers by beating the Branch Blaze by a score of 11-2 at Branch Fireman's Park on Sunday afternoon.  
Jayme Sukowaty earned the win on the mound in his Bandits debut, pitching five solid innings, while Joe Christensen returned from a two-year absence to pick up a four-inning save.  Sukowaty and Christensen combined for 19 strikeouts in the game.

Bandits Drop 2009 Season Opener

 The Manitowoc Bandits opened their 2009 season at Municipal Field, once again hosting the West Allis Nationals of the Frank Landgsdorff League of Southeastern Wisconsin.  The game was knotted at 2-2 after six innings before the Nationals were able to score several runs after accumulating mostly just hits for the first portion of the game.  West Allis scored six runs over the final three frames to put the Bandits four year winning streak at an end.

Two Days Until It All Begins Again...

On Saturday, the Bandits take the field for the 2009 season as they host the West Allis Nationals in a non-League game.. The Bandits are coming off back-to-back Northeastern League Championships and hope to continue their success there while also improving in Wisconsin State League play.  Come on out Saturday at 1pm to watch the 2009 Team take the field... some old faces, some new faces... lots of fun!
