Bats are Back but Defense Falters Against Sheboygan
The Bandits found their hitting stroke Tuesday night, pounding out 13 hits, led by Sam Spurney who was 3x5 with a pair of doubles, a home run and 5 RBIs, but four Bandits errors and a rough fifth inning and the Bandits fell to the Sheboygan A's by a score of 13-9 at Municipal Field. All was going well as the Bandits jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on Spurney's first inning homerun. Bandits starter Joe Christensen would pitch solidly into the fifth inning when suddenly everything went wrong and the A's scored eight runs. The Bandits would continue to get guys on base and score runs but the A's held out for the win. The Bandits are home again tomorrow night as they host the Green Bay Storm in Northeastern League action. The Storm beat the Bandits in their only meeting thus far this season.
